Students & Productivity Software

How will you help your students learn/use productivity software?...

I think that it will be very important to have a very engaging and interactive way to introduce new software that I plan on having my students use in the classroom. The reason for this is that if the software seems inferior to the software and programs that they already use at home, away from school, then students will not be interested in using the software that I have for them to use.

The activities that I create for my students to do using the software, need to have some areas in which the students can use their own creativity and imagination to personalize their work/creations. I think that it is also important to have a handout for my students that walks them through the various features that they can access through the software. I would also post this handout on line and link it to the class blog, or have it somewhere on the school website/class website where they can refer to it outside of class if they need to.
